Decorator

This was my project over Thanksgiving for an interior designer. I was given a photograph and asked to expand the sides and create a 4 ft X 3 ft painting on canvas. It was fun. It was pretty much just copying the picture but trying to figure out how to deal with the abstract patterns created by the blurred trees in the background and creating extra content for the sides was a challenge. I tried to keep myself thinking of the large forms and keep from reverting to my old habits of copying every detail exactly without really understanding what's going on. I wish I had made it a little darker on top.
